Studio Light Rigger

Studio Light Rigger (SLR) is the most advanced mobile app for planning photographic lighting set-ups. With a sophisticated 2D and 3D interface, users can position in 3D space many different types of photographic lights, pose 3D character models, place cameras and preview the resulting lights and shadows.

When Steven Teague, professional photographer and software developer, wanted to create a mobile app to help fellow professionals model complex photographic lighting environments, he chose to work with Marmalade. The result was Studio Light Rigger( SLR).

SLR uses Marmalade’s flexible UI framework, together with rich 2D and 3D drawing APIs, to create a sophisticated user interface. A library of over 30 high-resolution 3D character models was imported from TBC.

By taking part in the Marmalade Apps Program [link to 5.5], Steven received additional revenue advances and royalties when SLR was snapped up by Samsung Apps for the bada platform.
