Marmalade Simulator

Rapid iteration
Wave goodbye to clunky OS emulators with long start-up times – and say hello to Marmalade Simulator, which takes only a few seconds to launch from within your IDE. If you're tweaking and testing your app dozens of times a day, that means more productive coding and less waiting.
Simulate the form factor of any device
Marmalade Simulator lets you check that your app will behave as it should on any class of device, by changing form factor variables as you go along. Testing efficiently on the desktop means less time wasted on individual devices, and variables include:
- Screen resolution or orientation
- Multi-touch, keyboard, accelerometer and GPS
- Device properties such as IMEI number, battery level and mains power
- Levels of free memory
- Linking against OpenGL ES 2.0 drivers, OpenGL ES 1.x drivers, or no OpenGL ES drivers
- Presence or absence of various audio and video codecs
Gather valuable real-time application metrics
Accurate metrics help you improve the performance and user experience of your app – and within Marmalade Simulator you can inspect dozens of them in real time. Check current and peak values, or view in a scrolling graphical window. Example metrics include:
- App memory usage
- App file handle usage
- App Marmalade API usage
- App rendering load, such as numbers of vertices, polygons, textures and draw calls
