Richer HTML5 & PhoneGap apps

Use your existing web development skills
Marmalade is a uniquely powerful cross-platform SDK for the development of smartphone, tablet and Smart TV apps. It lets you create apps using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (“Web Marmalade”).
Web Marmalade – great for PhoneGap developers
Web Marmalade enables you to create apps using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, and deploy them with a single click to iOS and Android devices. It includes an implementation of the Adobe PhoneGap specification, providing JavaScript APIs for mobile device functionality. Of course, you can also leverage whichever JavaScript and HTML5/CSS3 libraries and frameworks you prefer.
Web Marmalade – the most powerful hybrid apps tool
Web Marmalade provides the most powerful and unified tooling of any hybrid apps environment. You can develop, test and deploy to all platforms from a single desktop hardware environment and IDE - choose either Windows or Mac – saving you time and money. Unlike other hybrid apps solutions, Marmalade doesn’t require you to recompile your app within platform-specific toolchains.
What's more, Web Marmalade provides a desktop Simulator that contains a full implementation of the Chrome browser. Not only can you simulate device form factors (such as screen resolution, screen orientation, availability of hardware keyboard) and sensors (such as touchscreen, accelerometer and GPS) but you also have access to the full Chrome Web Inspector and JavaScript debugging tools.
Web Marmalade – reshaping the future of hybrid apps
We are working hard to ensure that Marmalade will offer a unique mix of web and native app functionality. And watch out for the 6.1 release, where the web-native bridge will be fully exposed and documented for developers. This will allow developers to author primarily in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, and also use cross-platform C++ code where required, including access to powerful functionality such as 3D graphics.
We are also aiming for Web Marmalade to provide JavaScript bindings for native functionality outside the PhoneGap specification, for example to native UI elements such as tab bars, toolbars, etc.
In fact, the web-native bridge is already available for the more ambitious hybrid apps developers to explore - see this blog post for more information.
