Hello,

I've spent some time playing around with the trial version of Marmalade and have liked everything so far. I am considering making a purchase but I am having some trouble locating some clear information regarding database connections.

I am looking to make a connection to a SQL or MySQL database through Marmalade and I was curious on what options I have. The database that I want to connect to will be on a different server so SQLite would not work in my situation. Everything I have read so far seems to suggest my only option is using IwHTTP to perform GET or POST operations, but I was hoping for a slightly more direct method.

Has anyone successfully done any sort of database connections without using IwHTTP? If so, do you have any tutorials or suggestions? If my only option is IwHTTP does anyone have any good tutorials for database connections using this? I was looking at using MySQL++, but I believe I had read a post saying that there were issues using this with Marmalade.

I appreciate any help or suggestions that anyone can provide.

burger 406, I believe

burger 406,
I believe somebody ported this for you already:

As this was some time ago, you might need a few adjustments. If you do work with this one, please post your updated version in the community code forum, so other people can profit from your work as well.

Thx,

Chris

Note: You can use s3eSocket to connect remotely as well; Not just IwHTTP. (http://www.madewithmarmalade.com/devnet/docs#/api/s3eapidocumentation/s3...)

Thank you for your response

Thank you for your response Chris. However, the example in your link seems to not work.

Do you (or anyone else) have any other methods for database connections, or know if you can make some sort of direct connection in the code to a MySQL database?

I took a look at s3eSocket, and might have to end up using that or IwHTTP, but at this point I am still trying to avoid this if there is a more direct route.

Again, I appreciate any assistance anyone can provide.
