Loading collision geometry without a Model

Hi, I am exporting a level collision mesh out of max and loading it like a regular model (CStatic) and use the post build function to process the faces into a Bullet TriangleMesh. The point is I dont need the model any more as I will never render the collision mesh. Is there some way I can bypass creating the model completely ?
